Taylor Earnhardt Drives in Pit Crew Challenge

TAYLOR EARNHARDT “DRIVES” #1 CAR FOR 2011 NASCAR SPRINT PIT CREW CHALLENGE

Dale Earnhardt Inc. is proud to announce that Taylor Earnhardt, daughter of Teresa and Dale Earnhardt, competed with the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing #1 Bass Pro Shop team for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge.

This was the seventh year of the all-star caliber event which was held on May 19th at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. Televised coverage of the event aired on SPEED Channel.

Taylor was “driving” the #1 car, while the Bass Pro Shop Pit Crew performed their duties and pushed the car during this highly-competitive, prestigious timed event.

The winning Pit Crew and the individual Crew Members competed for awards and considerable “Bragging Rights”. An added benefit for the winning team was having first pit selection for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, on Saturday, May 21st, at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Taylor’s love of “horse-power” usually takes a different form: as an accomplished equestrian and championship barrel racer, with the love of competition and the will to win in her bloodline. In 2009, she participated in the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, driving the Richard Childress Racing #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet that her father won his 76th and final Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway.

“I am very proud to be able to join the #1 EGR Bass Pro Shop team for this event” said Earnhardt. “Pit crews work and train hard, and their performance can make the difference between winning and losing on race day.”

While the EGR #1 team did not go on to win the NSPCC, they did make it to the Semi-Finals……and a good time was had by all.
