Dale the movie, a moving tribute told through archival race footage and never-before-seen family home videos and interviews, is currently the theme in Dale Earnhardt Inc.’s public showroom in Mooresville, N.C. With his fiercest competitors and most avid fans sharing memories of him on the track, and his family and closest friends giving insight to the man behind The Intimidator persona, the film illustrates the depth of Earnhardt's influence in the racing world and beyond.
This is the only time that artifacts and photos from Dale will be on display in the showroom.
Fans stopping at Dale Earnhardt Inc. in the next few weeks will observe unique items related to the movie, including some of the clothes worn by Dale himself. From sunglasses, boots and jeans, to a tuxedo worn at a Winston Cup Championship banquet, you’ll only see these items on display here.
One of the most exciting things on display is Dale’s 1998 Daytona 500 trophy, which was Dale’s ultimate goal surrounding Dale the movie.
There are also photos from the movie, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s poem to his father, and quotes from the Dale Earnhardt Inc. family of drivers on their thoughts about the 2007 film.
In addition to the Dale theme, visitors will see trophies won by Ralph Earnhardt, Dale’s father, dating back to 1956, where he was named NASCAR National Sportsman Championship Driver. There is also a $50 check dated July 13, 1952, which covered Ralph’s winnings from a race at Harnett Speedway in Spring Lake, N.C.
Also on display are uniforms that Dale wore throughout his entire career, an informative section about the Dale Earnhardt Foundation, trophies from other Dale Earnhardt Inc. drivers, and much more for fans of Dale and Dale Earnhardt Inc.
